Shirdi is a religious spot which is famous as a place of pilgrimage because the Shirdi Sai Baba lived here. There is a shrine dedicated to Sai Baba in this region. Built on top of Sai Baba’s Samadhi, the temple is appreciated for its architecture and the lush green setting.Ajanta and Ellora are the pride of Maharashtra. The rock-cut caves of both these sites are world famous and illustrate the degree of skill and artistry that Indian craftsmen had achieved several hundred years ago. There are beautiful murals (paintings done on walls) in the caves, depicting scenes from the life of the Buddha.

Ellora represents the epitome of Indian rock-cut architecture. The 34 "caves", which are actually structures that have been excavated out of the vertical face of the Charanandri hills. Buddhist, Hindu and Jain rock-cut temples and viharas and mathas were built between the 5th century and 10th century. The 12 Buddhist (caves 1–12), 17 Hindu (caves 13–29) and 5 Jain (caves 30–34) caves, built in proximity, demonstrate the religious harmony prevalent during this period of Indian history. One aspect a typical visitor overlooks is the geological background of Ellora. After spending a few hours in Ellora, proceed to visit Daulatabad. Daulatabad is a 14th century fort city which includes the hill-fortress of Devagiri (also simply known as Daulatabad Fort).
