• Early departure from hotel to see and to offer food to the monks at the statue of Kruba Srivichai (1878-1938),a highly revered monk of Lanna Thai. Offering daily food to the monks is one of the activities for Thais to earn merit for their next life. Proceed to Wat Chedi Luang (Temple of the large pagoda) which was built by King Saen Muang Ma around 1401. Originally over 80meters high, it is now a mere 40meters as a result of an earthquake in 1545.The Emerald Buddha was once enshrined here. Then continue to Chiang Mai Gate to experience the hustle and bustle of a morning market and see local delicacies for sale.
